Brief foreword here: There's been a huge delay in anything getting posted due to my losing all of my files. Thankfully some reviews were saved on Dropbox but that's only the text, the screenshots have been lost to the angry HDD gods. Please enjoy the review and hopefully I'll have more regular posts coming up in the future.

Publisher: Daedalic Entertainment
Where to get it: Steam, Here
Price: £14.99 (Steam)

Apologies for the late post this week. Today's another look at the work I did while at Pixel Judge and was the game I reviewed before Guns, Gore & Cannoli, and Solarix which I posted a couple of weeks prior. Three terrible games at the start of a new job and I was very much worried about the fourth. Thankfully a bunch of quality games came along not long after and you'll get to see those reviews in the coming weeks. For now, enjoy another brief glimpse into my pain while I subjected myself to the horrors of a bad point and click adventure for the sake of honest review scores.

(As usual, the images used in the review have been lost time time and bad record keeping, got to have space to install all those games! Enjoy the wall of text!)

No Man's Sky is the sandbox space exploration game that's been subject to so much carefully manufactured hype that there was no way it could ever live up to our crazy, wild imaginations. But does it live up to the trailers? Lets find out.

Whiskey Reviews: Solarix

Info:
Platform: PC
Release Date: 30 April 2015
Developer: Pulsetense Games
Publisher: KISS Ltd
Where to get it: Steam, Here
Price: £14.99 (Steam)

This review was originally posted on Pixel Judge when I was working for them. It's the most trying review I've ever had to do and the only game I've ever reviewed without finishing it - though not for a lack of trying, my mental fortitude just gave out. Sadly the images have been lost to time and shoddy record keeping on my part so you'll have to just enjoy the notation and imagine terrible quality screens. Enjoy looking back on my pain!

Whiskey Reviews Is Returning

As you've no doubt noticed, Whiskey Reviews has been on hiatus for a long, long time now and that was because I got a job working for a site called Pixel Judge writing, managing and editing and I got to do all kinds of cool stuff like liase with developers and publishers and go to a trade show (Eurogamer Expo - EGX) and meet developers and publisher representatives there and it was all pretty awesome.

However, I didn't leave Pixel Judge under the best of circumstances and it left a sour taste in my mouth for reviewing games for a long time. I've been playing games hoping to find one that will spark my desire to talk about it again but even huge releases like DOOM, which blew me away with the quality of its single player campaign, couldn't get me writing again.

That said, I'm determined to get the reviews flowing again so starting this week with the release of No Man's Sky, I'll be posting reviews once more. Naturally a review of No Man's Sky will take more than a day to write so it won't be posted on Saturday like my reviews used to be, in its place will be a review I wrote for Pixel Judge of the worst game I ever played, one that caused me mental anguish and actual depression while playing it. I won't reveal what it is, but don't forget to check back in on Saturday.

The following weekend (the 20th) should be my review of No Man's Sky and that should mark the restarting of Whiskey Reviews posting on a regular basis. Hopefully, if I can get enough money together (donations welcome) then I'll buy a proper domain name that may or may not be Whiskey Reviews, because it sounds like I'm going to review booze and this is an endeavour I'd like to grow to include more people in the future so choosing a better name early on would probably be for the best.

Thank you for reading and your understanding about the stupidly long hiatus.
